So it is the penultimate day before the kick off of the big event. I am here enjoying my first coffee whilst soaking up the view of San Diego Bay with Nexa Managing Director, Andrew Thomas, soon to arrive. At Nexa we pride ourselves on our knowledgebase and we like to get industry expertise from the biggest and best first hand.

In the Manchester Grand Hyatt social media vibes fill the air and with the use of Hashtag  #smmw15 (soon to trend) meetings, hangouts and market meet-ups happening all over the resort. In Social Media Marketing World you have 10 different venues for each time slot with each one focusing on a different topic across the gambit of social media mediums. So the big question is “With so many events, conferences, meetings etc going on, what do we want to get out of this event and how do we do go about it?”

With events like this you only get the best from it if you first of all define your goals. We have outlined the events that we would like to attend based on our strengths, for me content and visual marketing, for Andrew social media strategy. Now it is time to sit down and finalize the plan of attack. One tip is to do a reconciliation run of the various venues. The last thing you want to be doing is spending your precious time negotiating a map in a tight schedule like this.

Now it’s time to head to the San Diego Bay, #SMMW15 is hosting a networking event tonight on the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier. Time to mingle with some of the most influential people in the business.
